When is a pediatric denture necessary?

Such a denture ensures the preservation of your child’s chewing function, allows normal language and swallowing development and also contributes to an appropriate attractive appearance. Thus, in spite of everything, your child is able to bite, chew and laugh.
At our DentiMeer pediatric dental office in Wiesbaden, we make tailor-made pediatric dentures. They are filigree and mostly made of resistant plastic.
How does the treatment proceed?
We examine your child’s teeth thoroughly in order to get a comprehensive view of the dental health of your child. To prevent more tooth loss, your pediatric dentist from Wiesbaden treats existing diseases like cavities first. Then, to make the pediatric denture, an impression of the bite is needed followed by the individual making of the pediatric denture in the dental laboratory.
Depending on the number of missing teeth, either a full or partial denture is considered. If only a few teeth are missing, there is the possibility to attach a partial denture to the remaining milk teeth.
The application for the cost coverage is done through your medical insurance. Once the treatment is approved, patients receive a fixed allowance. There is a full reimbursement of the pediatric denture only in special hardship cases. If the dental accident occurred on the way to school or in school, accident insurance takes over.
