There are several methods that we can combine to determine the cavities risk:
examine teeth to find plaque
analyze saliva/possibly dental plaque to look for certain bacteria that cause cavities
afterwards, talk to you and your child about the subject of sugar intake – one of the biggest risk factors
consideration of your child’s eating habits and dental hygiene routines
examining your child’s teeth to look for “initial lesions”: bright spots on teeth that can indicate a higher risk of cavities
consideration of present cavities damages: cavities that have already occurred (also in milk teeth), increase the risk for further lesions.
